My Story
In August 2024, our world got turned upside down when our youngest daughter, Charli, was diagnosed with high risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. After many unsuccesful rounds of chemotherapy, DNA testing revealed that her particular sub-type of leukeamia was chemo resistant. So after 3 rounds of immunotherapy, Charli had to undergo a bone marrow transplant in June 2024.
We’ve experienced first hand, the incredible work that organisations, like the Leukaemia Foundation and the Sydney Childrens Hospital Foundation, do in supporting patients and their families. While Charli was sick, I started drawing. It gave me something positive to focus on, helping me process emotions and find moments of calm amidst the uncertainty. The red dripping lips were one of the first drawings I did.
I am running both the Gold Coast half marathon and the Sydney Marathon to try raise funds for both of these incredible foundations. Instead of asking for money directly, I have decided to sell my art, with 100% of the proceeds going towards these charities.
This is just one small way that I can try give back to all the amazing people who helped save my daughter’s life.
I really am so grateful for all sales. If you would however, prefer to make a direct donation. Below are the links to my fundraising pages.
